"I am a third generation surfer and have lived on the California coast my whole life. I discovered Stand Up Paddle boarding in 2004 and that completely changed the direction of my life. I have a beautiful wife and two very active sons. I raced mountain bikes and road bikes for 20 years and gave that up to travel the world in search of adventure and learning about other people and their cultures."

"I was born and raised on Oahu's North Shore. I started surfing at the age of three and learned to windsurf at the age of twelve. I have been a sponsored athlete since I was fourteen. I moved to Santa Barbara ten years ago to help take care of my Grandparents and discovered a new passion for kiteboarding. I have always had a strong connection and love for the ocean and have expressed it through my art."

"I was raised in Dana Point's storied surf culture by my father, a legendary waterman in his own right, and my brother, whom I bitterly idolized. My affinity for the ocean was hereditary, and since my first surf sessions with my family, the passion has only gotten stronger. After High School I was afforded the opportunity to play soccer at the collegiate level, and when it came time to choose a university my innate love of the ocean led me to choose UC Santa Barbara. As a student-athlete there, I majored in environmental studies and garnered several athletic accolades, all the while taking time to enjoy the area's beauty. During my time at UCSB I was introduced to the Blueline team and began another exciting chapter in my life."

Graduating from UCSB as an E.S. major, and getting a boat!!!

"I've always been in or around the ocean. Became a dad at 19, surfer since 1966 and I've been in the motion picture business since 1975. I've been involved in the motion picture business in one form or another which has offered me the amazing lifestyle I have. Today I go with the flow and everything works out well."

"I didn't grow up very close to the ocean but even as a little kid I knew that I wanted to be in the sea. I began playing in the waves at about 10, windsurfing at 12 and as soon as I got my drivers license I was surfing everyday. I've been involved in ocean sports in one form or another ever since. I've been extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to compete professionally and travel around the world surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and recently SUP. I have also had the opportunity to work in the ocean sports industry doing film production and distribution."

Rick Thomas...the Godfather of SUP on the US mainland. Yup, Rick introduced SUP to the US mainland in the year 2000 and the rest is history. Rick is a very humble human being. Rick speaks softly and carries a big paddle! He is very proud of his Hawaiian culture. I had the honor of spending a couple of days with him on my latest trip down to Mexico. This guy is the real deal. We talked lots of story but I wont say anymore because his whole story will be told in full in the near future. Thanks Rick for turning us on to the Hawaiian sport of SUP on the mainland...respect.
